Your holidays by the sea...

in Occitania!

Gard – Camargue

Dive into the great outdoors in the Camargue Gardoise to the west of the Rhône

Land, sea and sky come together to form a unique setting in the South of France. This is the land of manades (ranches), black bulls, pink flamingos, horse rides among the lagoons and salt flats, bike rides and romantic sunsets on the wildest beach: Espiguette.

Must-visits: the fortified town of Aigues-Mortes, Salins du Midi salt marshes, Le Grau du Roi - Port Camargue.

The traditional fishing village has held onto its soul to become a buzzing sea resort with an international marina.

Hérault – Languedoc

Picture spending your summer chilling out, trying water sports and indulging your inner culture vulture on the Languedoc coast

Land in Montpellier before your adventure begins in La Grande Motte, stop in Carnon, Palavas-les-Flots, Thau Lagoon, Frontignan, Sète, Marseillan, Balaruc-les-Bains then explore the sea resorts of Cap d’Agde, Valras and Vendres before ending on a high in Béziers.

Welcome to Languedoc. Stretches of golden sand, beach huts and private beaches are yours for the taking as you learn about life as a fisherman, oyster farmer and winemaker, just to give your holidays a little extra flavour.

Soak up the local heritage with a trip to Montpellier, Sète and its canals, Béziers, the city of Agde and Pézenas.

Aude

Welcome to the windy kingdom where kitesurfing and seaside adventures reign supreme!

The beaches in the Aude department (La Franqui is said to be one of the best in France!) lie alongside Narbonnaise en Méditerranée Regional Nature Park. They're the perfect place to chill out, go water-skiing, birdwatching, hiking or cycling beneath the umbrella pines on the Massif de la Clape mountains.

Visit Narbonne then flit between Gruissan and Leucate: crystal-clear gulfs, sparkling lagoons, the hazelnut flavour of raw oysters, wineries... what a schedule!

Pyrénées-Orientales – Côte Vermeille

The Canigó (2785m altitude) watches over the sea resorts on the Côte Vermeille

Le Barcarès, Torreilles, Sainte-Marie-la-Mer, Canet-en-Roussillon, Saint-Cyprien, Argelès-sur-Mer, Collioure

In terms of seaside, beautiful sandy beaches make way for the Côte Vermeille's coves on Le Racou beach in Argelès-sur-Mer. In terms of mountains, the peaks are jam-packed with footpaths.

In terms of villages, you'll be dazzled by the age-old charm of Le Barcarès fishing port, leafy Saint-Cyprien, Collioure's radiant colours and the incredible biodiversity in nature sites such as  Canet-en-Roussillon Lagoon and Les Dosses park.
