DAY'S INTRODUCTION TO KITESURFING, WAKEBOARDING, AND THE BEACH:
A COCKTAIL OF SENSATIONS!
Astonishing natural surroundings
Coming from Narbonne, the road to Saint Pierre – where our day will take place – crosses the La Clape Massif. Breathtakingly beautiful landscapes with the intense blue sea as a backdrop – nature in all its splendour: the pines, the heathland and vines as far as the eye can see, not forgetting the scents – pine, thyme, rosemary... absolutely fantastic!
A thought-provoking trip not to be missed!
In Roman times, La Clape was an island! Today it is an unspoilt, natural area dotted with vineyards that you can visit. There you will find exceptional flora, animal species and rare plants. Make the most of your stay to try the La Clape AOC wines, famous for their iodised character,

Act like a pro?
"How do you feel like a kitesurfing pro without having ever touched a kite?": I am a total kitesurfing and wakeboarding beginner, but I thought that there must be a way of enjoying yourself without having mastered the technique. I felt a bit like: "I won't make it", but the idea of trying this activity had really got hold of me!
Swimsuit, sun cream (the water may be cold, but the sun is strong!), shower gel and a towel for the shower afterwards. Glisse et Kite offers an indoor place to shower and change, so you will not have to stay wet all day.
Tandem kitesurfing: hair blowing in the wind
We put on wetsuits, helmets and lifejackets. Some reassuring words, clear and simple explanations, and once attached to the pilot with a double harness, off we go for half an hour of thrills. A great adrenaline rush, hair blowing in the wind. Christophe and his team were always hyper-attentive.
The tandem kiteboard is really safe. I never thought the day would come when I'd experience boarding like an expert! At the end of the session, when I had already managed to do several runs, there was only one thing I wanted: to come back and do it on my own! Ideal introduction to the sport, with no risks!
Be aware that the lake water can be cold, even in summer!

Giant paddleboard, and great fun guaranteed
After a little break to calm down, off to the wakeboard pontoon for giant paddleboard! We had to go across the little lake beside the sea. We all got onto the big board that would take several people. It took several paddle strokes to get my balance, but I didn't fall into the water. The hardest thing, and the most fun too, was everyone in the group trying the keep their balance on the board! Guaranteed laughs!
To try these activities, you must be able to swim, and not be scared of the water, even if wetsuits and lifejackets are provided and the water is not very deep.
I absolutely loved it! A wakeboard is like a snowboard, but pulled over the water – no boat to pull us, but a cable linked between two poles. It's called cable skiing.
I was a bit scared of falling – it's not easy – and once I got going, the inevitable happened... I fell a few times, and my friends who were trying it did too. You had to swim back to the start. But after one or two falls, and some great laughs, we ended up getting the hang of the technique, staying on for the whole course and coming back to the pontoon with some superb turns!
I spent a good hour having fun in the water, and I loved trying this activity, the sliding feeling – sometimes it felt as though you were taking off.
After all that effort, the reward
We had to get off – the session was finished. Back on the paddleboard to the beach, with a little extra – hot showers and the cloakroom for the "après-kitesurf". Real feel-good!
Beach bar with a tropical feel
The reward for all the effort: the beach restaurant with the tropical atmosphere was there in magnificent surroundings, opposite the lake. The evening light falling on the water gave it fantastic colours and reflections. In the restaurant, Geraldine had prepared delicious dishes with fresh, local produce that she gets from the neighbourhood market in Saint Pierre. Regional produce, salads, hamburgers, and even vegan dishes. The service is perfect, and friendly. Geraldine will give your tastebuds a real treat – yours and ... the spectators' too. Quality, good prices, and a lovely view. What more do you need?
